Echigo Showman is a company that produces and leads community-based placemaking projects, working closely with local partner companies and independent business owners to create and grow a wide range of businesses.
At the heart of this effort is the Business Planning & Project Development Manager.
This role serves as the command centre of our projects—overseeing the big picture while flexibly handling planning, execution, progress management, and coordination with multiple stakeholders. In many ways, this position is the engine that drives our placemaking initiatives forward.
You will be involved in launching new projects on a regular basis, working at speed to turn ideas into reality and grow them together with the team. The process of shaping something from nothing, and watching it develop into a living business or place, offers a high level of challenge and fulfilment.

Comfortable taking ownership and creating new businesses without fear of change or failure
Focused on how to make things work, rather than on reasons why they cannot
Strong interest in contributing to local and regional revitalisation
Able to travel and work during winter conditions (around Sekiyama, Myoko City)
Required Skills & Experience
Required
Experience in business planning, project planning, or project management within an organisation
Japanese proficiency
Preferred
Management experience
Practical experience in placemaking, community development, or related fields
