We are pleased to announce that the “Project to Create Alpine Gastronomy Experience-Based Tourism in Myoko Sekiyama ,” proposed by Echigo Shoman Co., Ltd. , has been selected for the “New Regional Tourism Creation Project (Special Selection Creation Type/Demand Distribution)” promoted by the Japan Tourism Agency.
In this project, we will work in collaboration with diverse local stakeholders and experts to create and promote high-value experiential tourism content that combines the rich natural environment and unique food culture of Myoko-Sekiyama.
Myoko City in Niigata Prefecture is known as a world-class ski resort, but the Myoko-Sekiyama area where we operate is home to stunning nature that shines not only in winter but throughout spring, summer, and autumn, as well as traditional agricultural products and a rich food culture.
By combining these valuable local resources with seasonal farming experiences and town walks, we aim to create sustainable, year-round gastronomy tours that will delight visitors from both within Japan and internationally (primarily from Europe, the Americas, and Australia) throughout the year, while also becoming a source of pride for the local community.
We will strive to eliminate the bias towards specific seasons and aim to boost the overall tourism value and economy of the Myoko-Sekiyama area.
